The Ultimate Revelation Of Burning Fat Vs Burning Calories

To lose weight and get in shape, you need to eat well and exercise regularly to burn fat. The first thing to understand about exercising is that you are not just burning fat just because you are burning calories. Burning calories and burning fat are the opposite thing. You should be losing body fat, and you can't lose body fat just by burning calories.

When we exercise, our bodies start burning calories, but the calories that are burned are the calories from the carbohydrates in our system. For losing the stored fat, your body needs the presence of oxygen. There is a certain amount of oxygen that your body needs in order to start burning fat. Please understand that if you continue to burn only calories from carbohydrates, you will only lose "water weight" which leads to a decrease in your metabolism. Also, think of the calories you burn from carbohydrates as your energy calories. When you lose too many energy calories, your muscles won't get enough energy to kick start your metabolism, which indirectly burns fat. Therefore, whenever you are on an exercise program, you should increase your calorie intake to replace the energy calories you burned.

Burning Fat Calories During Exercise

During aerobic(cardio) exercise, your body goes through several phases before reaching the point where it burns fat. You will hear that for the first 10 minutes of exercise, you only burn sugar (carbohydrates) and not fat. It's true up to a point. I say this because if you don't exercise hard enough that your body needs more oxygen, you will continue to burn sugar or you exercise too much and cannot supply your body with enough oxygen to burn fat.

When you exercise, you should move at a steady pace (neither too fast nor too slow) so that your body uses stored fat (not carbohydrates or sugar) for energy. Fat doesn't mean it will stay there. Staying back in the fat burning phase depends on whether you are moving at the speed that is appropriate for your body. Make sure you are within your target heart rate zone.

 Burning fat calories at rest

The only way to burn calories from fat for hours after your workout is through anaerobic exercise with weights. Weight training is the key to burning fat at rest. Weight training is an anaerobic activity that will burn you out. The calories you burn during strength training are mostly carbohydrate calories (which means you need to consume even more calories each day for energy). But the calories you burn at rest are mostly calories from fat. The reason you burn fat at rest is because weight training stimulates your metabolism, which uses stored fat for energy. To make your body the best fat burning machine, you need to do aerobic exercise (cardio) and anaerobic exercise (strength training) simultaneously.
